Youth protection policy

Our promise

evaio is meant to be a friendly, safe place — especially for the youngest in our community. That is why clear rules based on the German Youth Protection Act (JuSchG) and the Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors in the Media (JMStV) apply here.

Age limits

• From 16: taking part in evaio (neighbourhood, friends, forum, marketplace).
• From 18: the "Your Love" area (flirting, dating) and all adult (18+) content — only after a one-time age verification.
• Adult images are shown to everyone else only as a neutral placeholder graphic.

Protective measures

• All uploaded photos are reviewed by our team before publication.
• Wording and help texts adapt to the user's age; minors between 16 and 18 see no dating and no 18+ features.
• Reports about suspicious contacts or content are handled with priority; if minors are at risk we involve the competent authorities.
• You can mute or block unwanted contacts at any time.

Advice for parents

Talk to your teenagers about safe behaviour online: no addresses or phone numbers for strangers, meetings only in public places and accompanied, and if something feels wrong: report and block. We are happy to help.
